Early History of Journey

Herbie Herbert the Santana’s former road manager recruited two band members who are Gregg Rolie and Neal Schon. Herbie also recruited the former bassist of Steve Miller Band Ross Valory. Herbie recruited these band members because he wanted to form a band named Golden Gate Rhythm Section and later become the Journey Band. Journey formerly established their jazz-influenced progressive rock sound that was on the year 1975. In the late ‘70s and mid ‘80s Steve Perry joins the band as a vocalist and the band launched their peak era of profitable success.

Journey at Present

Last 2005 Journey got the same members of the band who are Schon and Valory and striking their 30th anniversary together with that they release also their 23rd album which is in titled Generations. They also have their anniversary tour featuring some of their former band members. December 2006 the vocalist of the band who is Steve Augeri was being replaced by Jeff Scott Soto for several months since Augeri was in the chronic throat infection. And a few months later Soto was also replaced by Arnel Pineda a vocalist of a Filipino cover band. Pineda was discovered from his posted video on Youtube.

Arnel Pineda – Vocals
Deen Castronovo – Drums
